With their debut album hitting the US charts early next year, they took a few minutes out of their busy schedule to sit down with MixedTapeMedia and give you a little introduction.
For those who are just being introduced to TRIBES, how did the band come together and where did the name come from?
Well Johnny and Jimmy grew up together and Dan and Miguel met when they were 14 and have been friends ever since. Tribes formed from hanging out in Camden. Our mate came up with the name Tribes and it sounded cool so we went with it.
You currently have an EP out now titled We Were Children. When filming the music video for the title track I read that you caused quite a rucus! What was that experience like?!
It was great, we had a time window of 20 minutes before police would come down so it was quite exiting.
Also seeing so many fans turn up was awesome.
"Sappho" is the the next music video to drop from the EP, could you tell me a bit about the concept and how it all came together?
We just wanted to have a tranny party with all our mates.. seemed like a good excuse.
When can we expect a full length album?
Late January. We are really proud of it and cant wait for the US release.
You guys have played live with amazing bands such as the Pixies previously, but I'd like to know who your ideal band to play a show with would be?
Led Zeppelin
What comes next for TRIBES?
Lots of touring and lots of fun.
